I fell off the wagon again. Seriously fell off. I mean how long has it been since my last blog post??? Halloween. Ugh. Epic fail.
Well, I can’t think of a better way to get back on the horse (or wagon, or whatever) than by sharing one of my favorite family sessions ever.
January sometimes tends to be a slower month for photographers, as most families are coming down off the high (and, um, expense) of the winter holidays. But, I’m fortunate to have clients who embrace the off-season and the beauty that winter brings. Seriously, an in-home session where we get to play in the snow too?!?! Yes, please!
Sherri called me at the end of December to schedule an in-home session for she and her husband, their two little nuggets, and their great big doggy. Yes, please! I’ve heard some people bemoan photographing the toddler set because, well, they don’t listen. But, for me, that’s what makes it fun…because they are the activity directors instead of me. It’s such a fun and infectious energy. And, with pets involved???? Golden.
There is nothing better than capturing authentic family moments. Things don’t have to be so orchestrated. Honestly, really seriously honestly, life’s most beautiful moments happen in the in-between…in-between scheduled activities or important events. It’s those in-between moments that make my heart happiest.
We could all use a little more happy these days. So, enjoy it…Sherri, Elie, Micah, Talia, (and Zuma) – thanks for sharing your happy with me!!!
