How is it March 13th already?!? I seriously failed on the fun family activities post this month. Sorry, gang! But, in the interest of still encouraging you all to get out and enjoy the mud season, may the rain boots be with you 🙂
March 14: Tomorrow, at the First Reformed Church in Nyack, Tom Chapin will be hosting/performing a Backward Birthday Concert. In celebration of his own birthday, the Grammy winner will be performing some of his most beloved songs. In honor of his focus on preserving the earth and loving our families, Tom has asked that attendees bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to People to People. A family 4-pack of tickets is $80. Go, sing, dance, and have fun!
March 14-15: This weekend, head on up to Westmoreland Sanctuary & Wildlife Preserve in Mt. Kisco for their annual Sugarfest! Enjoy a pancake breakfast followed by their maple sugaring program. Perfect for families and children! The cost is $10/members, $12/non-members. Children 3-5 are $7.
March 22- April 4: Each year, Macys in Herald Square puts on a floral display of epic proportions. Now that my own kids are old enough, we’ll definitely be taking the train in to see the Macy’s Flower Show. This year’s theme is “Art in Bloom.” It’s really the perfect start to Spring. Take the kids, enjoy the flowers, do a little shopping, and enjoy a day in the city after this endless winter of snow 🙂
March 26-29: If you have small children, the likelihood is that Disney has become a fixture in your life.  Take them away from the TV, and let your small people experience live theatre that’s appropriate for little kids. DisneyLive! Presents Three Classic Fairy Tales will be playing at the Westchester County Center for three days. Boys and girls will love it as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy narrate the stories of Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and Snow White. Tickets range in price from $20 all the way up to $155, so reserve in advance to secure your seats.
March 29: It’s a trek, but so worth it. Luna Park in Coney Island opens for the season! Take a spin on the Wonder Wheel. Get some ice cream on the boardwalk. If you’re feeling adventurous, hit up The Cyclone. And, if you’re looking to make a whole day of it, the New York Aquarium is literally right next door! Sand, sea animals, and super fun rides. Pretty much a kids’ dream 🙂
