"It seems like a good night for a birthday." That's what Nurse Betsy said the night you two were born. Dad was wearing the blue astronaut monkey t-shirt and there were Spanish telenovelas on in the hospital room. It was cold and quiet and late, but I remember feeling suddenly uncomfortably hot. Knowing that in a few minutes, the trajectory of your life is about to change forever will do that to a person. But, I wasn't nervous. I wasn't scared. I was ready to see who you would become. And, I think that same feeling has carried with me every year when I reflect back on the people you were, the people you are, and wonder about the people you will be. You are a constellation of wonders, my Twinkles. So, on your birthday, these are my love letters to you... first written in kindergarten, but with monumental love from the start.
Yours Forever,
Mom
